World Cities Day

One of the main goals of the United Nations establishing World Cities Day is to foster Sustainable Urban Development around the world.

Massive population growth in cities could bring about one of the most difficult challenges we will face regarding climate change: the waste generated by households and businesses due to increased daily consumption.

To integrate this complex, heterogeneous and difficult-to-treat waste stream into existing processes, it is essential to incorporate innovative technologies that contribute to transforming this problem into a solution.

ECONWARD has developed BIOMAK® to enable an efficient separation of Municipal Solid Waste. BIOMAK® removes organic matter, which is the main source of emissions in landfills, from inorganic material and converts it into energy. The clean inorganics can then be recovered with appropriate technologies used for that purpose.
